Job summary

Community Health Systems is hiring a Medical Technologist I for nights in Naples, FL to perform moderate and high complexity lab tests on blood and body fluids under supervision. You will maintain quality control, operate instruments, and assist in data collection for regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy as needed, teaching new staff, troubleshooting equipment, and collaborating with the team to ensure accurate results and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Passing score on Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW).
• 0-2 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, reporting results with documentation.
• Maintains quality control and performs checks, analyzes data, and corrects out-of-range results.
• Conducts instrument checks and preventive maintenance per policies.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures safety regulations and PPE compliance.
• Communicates test results and issues to teammates and supervisors.
• Assists with proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation.
• Collects urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy as needed.
• Collaborates with team to complete duties and ensure accuracy.
