Northwest-Health-Porte in Indiana is seeking a Medical Technologist I for part-time night shift with possible site rotation between Portage and Valparaiso Medical Center. The role performs routine and high complexity lab tests, ensures quality control, maintains instruments, and supports patient care.

Phlebotomy duties and teaching may be required. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, ASCP/AMT/AAB certification, and 0-2 years acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Chemical/Physical/Biological/Clinical Laboratory Science required.
• ASCP/AMT/AAB certification required or approved LAP credentialing.
• 0–2 years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity tests accurately with timely reporting.
• Maintains quality control, analyzes data, and resolves out-of-range results.
• Performs instrument checks and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and contacts appropriate personnel.
• Follows safety regulations and Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates results and issues with healthcare staff.
• Supports proficiency testing and regulatory data collection.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as needed and teaches staff/students.
• Collaborates to ensure smooth shift operations and duties.
