Job summary

Howard Head Sports Medicine in Vail, CO, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Tech (MLT) for the night shift. The role involves collecting and processing moderate- and high-complexity tests, maintaining instruments, and delivering rapid, accurate results to physicians.

The ideal candidate has ASCP-certified MLT, at least 1 year in a high-complexity lab, and strong English communication. The position is full-time, on-site, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as an MLT or Lab Assistant in a high-complexity lab preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification by ASCP required.
• Must have computer/typing skills to complete online learning requirements and policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs general tests in laboratory areas including blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology and microbiology under supervision.
• Maintains and troubleshoots lab instrumentation; performs preventative maintenance.
• Validates data, enters data into LIS, and reviews for accuracy and completeness.
• Reports data to Physicians, Infection Control, and regulatory bodies as required.
• Performs quality control, calibrations, and validations on test assays.
• Performs specimen collection, handling, processing, and storage per regulations.
• Assists with training lab assistants and waived testing personnel.
• Maintains competency and education in general lab practices.
