Job summary

PPG in Shelby, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our operations on the 3rd shift (10:00pm–6:30am). Your work will directly impact production and safety, supporting electrical, plumbing and machine maintenance.

You will test wiring, troubleshoot equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and assist in training staff. The role requires hands-on skills in plumbing and electrical systems, plus some computer experience, with a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in Plumbing and Electrical.
• Experience working with Systems Technology.
• Heating and Cooling experience is preferred.
• Some computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test wiring including hi-voltage 3-phase and machine control, pipe fitting, welding, tooling, and rack repair when necessary.
• Troubleshooting and corrects malfunctions on equipment, machinery, and building as required.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance per schedule instructions and "Emaint"
• Uses appropriate tools and equipment in performance of maintenance duties.
• Maintains building systems in good working order.
• Promotes and utilizes 5-S standards for the line to improve efficiency, cleanliness and safety.
• Follows all OHSA and corporate safety guidelines and assist in safety concern rectification and preventative measures.
• Assist production in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Help with training of new personnel in production and maintenance.
