Job summary

PPG’s Barberton/Norton, OH facility seeks a Mechanical Systems expert to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex equipment across production and building systems. You’ll perform PMs, root‑cause analysis, and safety‑focused maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial maintenance, a Certified Maintenance Apprenticeship or Mechanical Institute Certificate, and CMMS familiarity. Shift options include 2nd and 3rd with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience (chemical facility preferred).
• Certified Maintenance Apprenticeship or Mechanical Institute Certificate.
• Able to read/understand technical manuals and CAD drawings.
• CMMS familiarity (MicroMain, SAP or similar).
• Confined-space entry capability and good safety record.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify, and install equipment to maintain safe, reliable operations.
• Diagnose malfunctions and replace/repair parts on production systems.
• Perform PMs on belts, piping, filters, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and drives.
• Troubleshoot issues, document root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and interpret technical schematics.
