Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. in Shelby Township, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (10:00 pm–6:30 am). The role pays $30.00–$32.00 per hour and involves maintaining equipment, wiring, plumbing, and building systems to ensure safe, reliable production.

You will troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, support continuous improvement, and train new personnel. Experience with plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC is preferred, along with basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing and electrical systems.
• Experience working with Systems Technology.
• HVAC experience is preferred.
• Some computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test wiring including hi-voltage 3-phase and machine control, pipe fitting, welding, tooling, and rack repair when necessary.
• Troubleshooting and corrects malfunctions on equipment, machinery, and building as required.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance per schedule instructions and "Emaint".
• Uses appropriate tools and equipment in performance of maintenance duties.
• Maintains building systems in good working order.
• Promotes and utilizes 5-S standards for the line to improve efficiency, cleanliness and safety.
• Follows all OHSA and corporate safety guidelines and assist in safety concern rectification and preventative measures.
• Assist production in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Help with training of new personnel in production and maintenance.
