Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Cleveland, OH. This on-site, full-time role ensures reliable production by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment. Shift runs 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with a base pay of $37.79 per hour plus a $0.70 shift premium.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues, read blueprints, and collaborate with teams to improve equipment availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50lb on a consistent basis.
• Must be able to work overtime as necessary
• 3 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Journeyman Certification a plus, not required.
• Basic electrical and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Capable of reading blueprints and simple wiring schematics
• Some experience in CMS (Computerized Maintenance Systems)
• Basic computer skills
• Respond to service requests in a professional manner, ensuring that all assigned requests are completed successfully and promptly
• Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state, and federal laws.
• Must be able to work alone and as a team member when needed.
• Excellent time management skills can easily conform to shifting priorities and timeline

Responsibilities

• Determining and performing required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
• Performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and basic electrical issues
• Testing, troubleshooting, repairing machines and equipment, and ordering/installing replacement parts.
• Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield. Performs equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and support upgrades or installations of new equipment as needed.
