Job summary

PPG is seeking an experienced Electrician/Maintenance technician for the 3rd shift in Cleveland, OH. The role focuses on repairing, constructing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to support industrial operations.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, read technical manuals and blueprints, and collaborate with the production team to ensure safety and reliability. A strong work ethic and readiness for overtime are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as an industrial electrical maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Journeyman Electrical Certification is a plus, not required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime if required.
• Experience operating forklift, scissor lift, and Skytrax safely and efficiently.
• PLC experience is desired.
• Experience with VFDs installation and setup is desired.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency in completing tasks.
• Experience working around high voltage a must.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend machinery life.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment status.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in facilities repairs.
• Operate material handling equipment includes forklift, scissor lift, and Skytrax safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
• Perform general facilities maintenance work.
• Communicate effectively with production team members and maintain clean work areas, including the maintenance shop.
• Ensure a safe work environment by following PPE and lock-out tag out procedures.
