Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. in Cleveland is seeking an Electrician/Maintenance on the 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am) to repair, construct, install, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.

The role requires at least 3 years of experience in an industrial setting; Journeyman certification is a plus. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as an industrial electrical maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Journeyman Electrical Certification is a plus, not required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime if required.
• Experience operating forklift, scissor lift, and Skytrax safely and efficiently.
• PLC experience is desired.
• Experience with VFDs installation and setup is desired.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency in completing tasks.
• Experience working around high voltage is a must.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose issues and implement effective repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures.
• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Maintain maintenance records and report equipment status.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for reliability and efficiency.
• Support repairs in facilities as needed.
• Operate material handling equipment safely.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
• Perform general facilities maintenance tasks.
• Communicate effectively with production teams and keep work areas clean.
