Job summary

Avient Corporation in Hickory, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to execute complete work orders, repair equipment, and perform preventive maintenance to meet plant goals. The role focuses on minimizing costs while keeping systems in good operating condition.

Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, reading schematics, operating shop machinery, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in troubleshooting controls systems, electric components, pneumatic, instrumentation and mechanical devices.
• Experience in other maintenance fields such as plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, welding, forklift repair, etc.
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and adapt to rapid changes.

Responsibilities

• Completes electrical projects; design and installs.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and read schematics.
• Repair/mechanical devices; replace defective parts.
• Operate shop machinery (drill press, grinders, saws, welder).
• Install/repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventories.
