Job summary

Avient is seeking a Maintenance Associate in Birmingham, AL to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support plant reliability. You will read schematics, operate shop machinery, and service hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

A proactive team player who can work overtime is preferred and benefits start day one. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, with technical training preferred, and prior industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; technical school degree preferred.
• Experience in an industrial operations environment is preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Completes electrical projects; design and installs and reads schematics.
• Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation and replaces defective parts.
• Operates shop machinery (drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder).
• Maintains hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and replaces components as needed.
• Performs and documents work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
