Avient Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the night shift to maintain and repair plant equipment. You will troubleshoot mechanical devices, operate shop machinery, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Technical School degree or equivalent experience.
• Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals.
• Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide; conversions between units.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation and replaces defective parts.
• Sets up and operates shop machinery (lathe, drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder) and uses hand and pneumatic tools.
• Installs new or repairs/modifies hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
• Completes projects with minimal guidance and minimizes downtime.
• Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment with a preventive maintenance mindset.
• Operates forklift and hydraulic lifting platform as needed.
• Researches supplies, parts and tools needed to complete work orders.
• Maintains accurate inventory of parts and updates maintenance records.
