Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
• Two or more years of nursing experience in clinical area.
• One or more years in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, ensuring patient safety and adherence to policies.
• Assists in health and psychiatric teaching for patient and family; serves as a role model for patients and peers.
• Shares responsibility for planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
• Monitors patient acuity, census, staffing needs and arranges coverage for appropriate staffing ratios.
• Communicates with medical staff, follows orders, and minimizes errors; participates in team conferences.
