Job summary

Banner Health's Labor and Delivery Surgical Technologist role at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO is a full-time night shift. You will select and arrange surgical instruments, assist during procedures, and support the department administratively as needed.

The 10-bed Labor & Delivery unit provides a personalized birthing experience in a busy obstetric setting, with weekend rotations and differential pay during night shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge and current basic life support certification.
• Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency.
• The position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations. The position requires the ability to be conscientious, organized, and orderly and the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.
• Must stay abreast of new developments in the field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures; pulls instruments and ensures working order.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs and passes instruments.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and safety; disposes of sharps and assists with counting.
• Ensures accuracy of surgeon preference cards and pick lists.
• Assists with OR turnover and stocking of supplies; cleans operating rooms.
• Provides administrative tasks as needed.
• Follows safety procedures for labeling, specimens, sharps, time-outs, radiation and infection control.
