Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science required.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and health-care team.
• Analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources and interpret results.

Responsibilities

• Moderate and high complexity tests using a variety of laboratory techniques.
• Performs tests according to established laboratory procedures with acceptable accuracy and precision.
• Develops and demonstrates knowledge and skills pertaining to instrumentation, procedures, and processes.
• Performs maintenance according to scheduled frequency with complete documentation.
• Performs tasks to assist with overall operation of laboratory service according to laboratory policies and procedures and in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Takes responsibility for inventory of reagents, quality control materials and supplies associated with assigned test to ensure adequate materials are available for next analysis.
• Accurately analyzes patient specimens on instruments and/or by specified manual methodologies within specified turnaround times.
• Identifies problems with instrumentation, methodology, specimens, supplies, or results and take action as outlined in established protocols.
