Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Automated Lab Team. You will perform and report a wide range of analyses across multiple lab sections, directly impacting diagnosis, treatment decisions, and patient outcomes.

Roles include performing chemical analyses of body fluids, counting blood cells, and ensuring equipment reliability through calibration and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology.
• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP; or eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.

As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will perform and report a wide range of routine and highly complex analyses across multiple lab sections - directly impacting patient diagnosis, treatment decisions, and clinical outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures
• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Position Hours

• 40 hours, NIght Shift, rotating wknds/holidays

Minimum Requirements

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology
• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP. Or must be eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.

Pay Range

$$30.10 - $48.15 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
