Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is hiring a Lab Technician II to join our Laboratory team. This role involves receiving specimens, processing them manually, and ensuring accurate documentation while working the night shift from 11:00pm to 7:30am, with weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include accessioning specimens into LIS, sorting and delivering specimens, and performing routine maintenance and quality checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
• Associate's Degree may substitute for up to one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and accession laboratory specimens into the LIS.
• Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens.
• Accept or reject specimens according to established standards.
• Perform specimen investigation procedures to resolve issues.
• Verify accurate documentation for specimen processing.
• Maintain patient, specimen and tracking data in the laboratory system.
• Prepare specimens for analysis.
• Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance).
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic clerical tasks.
