Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Lab Supervisor for the night shift to lead a small team in a regulated lab environment. You will supervise daily operations, ensure testing accuracy, and uphold ISO/IEC 17025 and safety standards while coordinating with management.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes coaching, workflow optimization, and adherence to quality controls. A Bachelor’s degree in a related science and at least 3 years of lab supervision are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Food Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory operations or a regulated environment.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with ISO/IEC 17025, FDA, or USDA environments preferred.
• Experience with LIMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day lab activities during the night shift.
• Directly supervise a small team of about three employees.
• Prioritize work based on workload and turnaround targets.
• Monitor sample flow and testing status.
• Conduct shift huddles and provide updates.
• Provide hands-on support to testing and troubleshooting.
• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant lab environment.
• Ensure adherence to ISO/IEC 17025, SOPs, and safety requirements.
• Coach and develop team with performance feedback.
• Communicate significant issues to leadership.
