PPG Industries, Inc. in Oak Creek, WI is seeking a Quality Control Technician (3rd Shift) to perform laboratory tests ensuring chemical and physical characteristics of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products meet specifications.

You will be seated at the Oak Creek plant and report to the Quality Supervisor. Responsibilities include verifying batch tickets, operating and calibrating lab instruments, testing samples, recording results, and maintaining quality records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of chemistry or lab testing experience.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics and scientific principles.
• Product inspection, testing and evaluation.

Responsabilités

• Verify formula and component specifications on batch tickets.
• Set up, adjust, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as paint guns, viscometers, pH meters, gloss meters, solids analyzer and spectrophotometer.
• Test samples to verify conformity to specifications.
• Record test results on batch tickets and computer system.
• Manage quality records and retains of production batches.
• Evaluate retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
• Perform routine production quality checks to ensure finished products meet specs.
• Occasionally audit laboratory and production work instructions for quality policy compliance.
