Job summary

NCH is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our Naples laboratory team. You will receive and process incoming specimens, ensure safe handling to reduce cross contamination, and prepare samples for technical assays.

The role includes procuring blood samples across age groups, and supporting accessioning and test status inquiries from hospital staff. Responsibilities emphasize accuracy, timeliness, and courteous communication with nurses, physicians, and patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in phlebotomy and/or clinical lab.
• Excellent customer services skills, basic computer skills and ability to multitask are required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process all incoming specimens to prepare them for technical assays.
• Ensure specimens are stored under proper conditions and delivered to appropriate areas in a timely manner.
• Procure blood samples for all ages, following knowledge of collection devices and order of draw.
• Answer incoming lab phones and provide information on specimen collection, preservation, test orders and status to hospital staff.
