Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a Specialist Infrastructure Engineer for the Bus Command Center - Operations Support in Brooklyn. The role focuses on maintaining and improving IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, data centers, and security, to ensure reliable operations for the bus command center.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required.
Minimum 3 years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Certifications in relevant IT domains (e.g., CISCO, CompTIA, AWS, Azure) are preferred and may be required.

Responsibilities

Defines and manages infrastructure components within Bus Command Center scope.
Supports disaster recovery and contingency planning to minimize outages.
Performs system analysis, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
Configures and maintains servers, networks, data centers, and cloud infrastructure.
Implements security measures including firewalls, access controls, VPNs, and incident response.
