Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking an adaptable Unit Clerk for night shifts in Morgantown. You will greet patients, admit them, and manage bed assignments and transfers, ensuring accurate documentation in the EPIC system.

Coordinate with physicians and other departments to support safe, timely patient flow. Responsibilities include discharge processing, chart preparation, scheduling follow-ups, and handling routine communications with hospital staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or secretarial school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and perform admitting duties as they arrive.
• Enter admitting information into the computer accurately.
• Locate and assign beds for patients.
• Notify physicians of admissions as requested.
• Communicate transfer details when moving patients within the hospital.
• Handle discharge processes and prepare patient charts for discharge.
