Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking an Admitting Clerk to support patient intake in the department. You will greet patients, complete admitting information in the computer, and coordinate bed assignments as part of a busy hospital team.

This role requires solid reading/writing skills, the ability to communicate clearly with physicians and staff, and high school-level education. A Medical Assistant program is preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes, and comprehends simple instructions.
• Good verbal and writing skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and admit patients upon arrival to the department.
• Enter admitting information in the computer (EPIC).
• Locate and assign beds for patients.
• Notify referring physician of admission as requested.
• Communicate transfer information when patient moves within the hospital.
