Job summary

Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama is seeking a Hospice House Team Assistant-Nights to provide front-desk and clerical support for patients, families, and staff. You will greet visitors, handle calls, assist with documentation, and help the charge nurse with distribution of forms and data.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic medical terminology knowledge, proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook, strong typing, and the ability to multi-task in a compassionate healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in medical terminology and Microsoft programs; typing skills.
• Preferred two years clerical experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience with an EMR system preferred.
• Influenza vaccine during season and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, families, visitors, staff, and others with a helpful attitude.
• Answer phone calls and manage call lights promptly and professionally.
• Type professional memos, letters and other information.
• Maintain accurate daily census and staff assignment sheets; send electronically as required.
• Assist the charge nurse with distribution of data and forms.
• Perform clerical duties to support supervision and clinical staff.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant workspace and ensure privacy of information.
