Job summary

Houchens Food Group in Bowling Green, KY seeks a Stock Clerk – Grocery to stock and straighten merchandise, rotate stock by expiration dates, and unload deliveries according to guidelines. This role requires safety awareness and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while maintaining a fast pace.

You will assist customers by bagging and carrying groceries, operate basic cashier equipment, and keep your area clean.

Qualifications

• Follows dress code.
• Follows written and oral instructions.
• Speaks English fluently.
• Eyesight corrected to 20/20.
• Hearing corrected to normal range.

Responsibilities

• Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Rotates merchandise as necessary according to product expiration dates.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.)
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform job functions.
• Maintains a clean and neat work area.
• Unloads groceries from customers shopping cart
• Ability to operate cashier equipment/systems
• Carries or carts groceries to customer’s car.
• Properly bags or packages customers purchases using correct size and quantity of bags.
• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
• Performs all essential job functions with limited supervision.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.
• Other duties as assigned.
