Job summary

Houchens Food Group in Kentucky is seeking a Deli Clerk to rotate, stock and straighten merchandise, price items according to guidelines, wrap products correctly and maintain a clean deli area. You will perform housekeeping, operate tools safely, stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds while working with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Rotate, stock and straighten merchandise and supplies.
• Correctly price all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
• Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap / or container.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures
• Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment
• Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
• Perform all job functions with limited supervision
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds
• Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
• Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager
• Other duties as assigned
