Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician to support the overall Food Safety Plan through monitoring, record review and inspections in a lab/production setting.

Responsibilities include verification inspections for sanitation, environmental monitoring swabs, temperature checks, daily line inspections, data entry and adherence to Safe Quality Food program. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Degree
• Ability to complete tasks based on standard procedures.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work cross-functionally
• Basic Computer skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct verification inspections for post sanitation and pre-operation cleans.
• Conduct pre-operational and environmental monitoring swabs
• Conduct plating of environmental monitoring swabs
• Monitor room, cooler and incubator temperatures.
• Conduct routine testing and monitoring of product and packaging attributes to established specifications
• Conduct daily review of labels and retain product
• Conduct real time review of production records
• Conduct daily line inspections.
• Conduct routine data entry and filing of paper work
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by plant FSQA leadership.

Education

High School Degree

Associate’s degree in Food Science or related field

SAP experience

HACCP Certification
