Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight between trailers and dock areas in Louisville. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, verify freight documents, and secure loads for safe transport. The role involves lifting heavy items and performing hostling duties as needed.

We require at least 18 years old, a high school diploma (preferred), and basic math/communication skills. This is a wage-based, on-site position with varying hours depending on operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and open trailer doors repeatedly.
• Basic math and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Verify freight details against documentation.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
