Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines is seeking an ER Tech to support the Emergency Department across all age groups on a 12-hour night shift. You will assist with phlebotomy, EKGs, and direct patient care while coordinating with the nursing team to keep patient flow smooth.

Responsibilities include triage assistance, stocking, patient transport, room preparation, and specimen collection. Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year healthcare experience, and Mandatory Reporter training within 3

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year healthcare experience required.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department as assigned.
• Perform phlebotomy functions and EKGs.
• Assist with transport and coordination between departments.
• Help with room preparation, stocking, and cleaning.
• Rounding hourly on patients and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Collect and accurately label specimens.
