Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Belleville, NJ invites a Physician Assistant to join our Nights team in Emergency Medicine. This salaried position supports the ED through patient assessment, diagnostics, and care coordination, delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

You will work under supervision, performing procedures and developing treatment plans while maintaining documentation and compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and hospital policies. Competitive compensation offered.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies required.
• Physician Assistant Certification required.
• New Jersey licensure (Board of Medical Examiners/Physician Assistant) required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient history.
• Perform physical and medical screening examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; establish treatment plans.
• Coordinate patient care with other health care team members.
• Initiate consult requests to other health professionals as needed.
• Instruct patients regarding health and refer to specialists/resources.
• Complete thorough and timely charting.
• Manage patient flow in the Emergency Department or inpatient unit.
• Perform procedures as allowed by state law and under physician supervision.
• Participate in risk management education and CME/CEU requirements.
