The PA will obtain histories, perform exams, order tests, coordinate care, counsel patients, and complete thorough charting. Requires NJ PA licensure, PA certification, BLS/ACLS, and CDS/DEA where applicable.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required for PA licensure in NJ.
• Active PA certification and state licensure required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• CDS and DEA licensure in NJ required.
• Professional organization membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records patient history.
• Performs physical and medical screening examinations.
• Completes diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
• Orders diagnostic tests and therapies as appropriate.
• Establishes treatment plans and initiates medications as needed.
• Coordinates patient care with the health care team.
• Initiates consultations to other providers as needed.
• Counsels patients regarding health and referrals.
• Completes charting in a timely manner.
• Manages patient flow in ED or inpatient unit.
• Performs procedures as allowed by state law and supervision.
• Participates in staff meetings and risk management education.

Education

Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies

Physician Assistant Certification

Registration & Licensure NJ State Board

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Advanced Life Support (ACLS) Certification

New Jersey CDS and DEA Licensure
