Job summary

Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to clean and sanitize wards, rooms, and facilities. The role includes cross-training in multiple areas such as patient rooms, X-ray, surgery, and outpatient services, with a focus on maintaining a clean and safe environment.

The position requires the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively; EVS experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write & communicate effectively.
• EVS experience is desirable, but not essential.
• EVS competency test to be taken within 90 days of hire via Healthstream and renewed yearly.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes wards, rooms, baths, restrooms, and offices as scheduled.
• Cross trains for different work areas (patient rooms, X-ray, surgery, outpatient areas, offices, ED).
• Loads cleaning materials, prepares solutions, transports to work areas, and maintains organized workspaces.
• Cleans and sanitizes rooms, bathrooms, nursing stations, lounges, and offices. Monitors for repairs and notifies supervisor.
