Job summary

Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City, IL seeks a full-time Environmental Services Technician to clean and sanitize wards, rooms, restrooms, and offices, and to maintain an orderly facility overnight.

You will follow cleaning procedures, stock supplies, assist with terminal cleaning after patient discharges, and cross-train for different areas including patient rooms, x-ray, surgery, and emergency department.

Qualifications

• The EVS technician must have the ability to read and write & communicate effectively.
• EVS experience is desirable, but not essential.
• EVS competency test must be taken within 90 days of hire via Healthstream and renewed yearly.

Responsibilities

• The EVS technician is responsible for cleaning an assigned area as scheduled.
• The EVS technician will cross train for different work areas. (Patient and resident rooms, x-ray, surgery, outpatient, business offices, emergency department, etc.)
• Cleans and sanitizes rooms, arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion. Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, nursing stations, lounges, and offices.
• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas by washing furniture, tiles, fixtures, mirrors and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions.
