Job summary

ScionHealth in Texas is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide pre-hospital emergency medical care and transport for the sick and injured. You will work as part of a team, maintain equipment, document services, and support hospital transport and clinical duties while following established protocols.

This role requires EMT certification and BLS, a high school diploma, completion of an accredited EMT program, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in documentation and use of electronic medical records (EMRs).

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency calls and provides basic life support in line with EMT scope of practice
• Assesses patient condition, determines nature of illness or injury, and provides appropriate treatment
• Assists in lifting, moving, and transporting patients safely via ambulance or other approved methods
• Communicates effectively with dispatch, emergency departments, physicians, and family members
• Operates and maintains medical equipment including oxygen, suction units, stretchers, and monitors
• Documents all patient care activities accurately in accordance with department and regulatory standards
• Maintains cleanliness, readiness, and inventory of emergency response vehicles and equipment
• Supports emergency room or hospital transport team functions as needed
• Participates in quality improvement activities and continuing education requirements
• Follows safety and infection prevention protocols in all patient care activities
