Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with a good driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current EMT license issued by Michigan.
• Pass Life EMS pre-employment requirements.
• Current BLS card.
• Trauma or pediatric certification depending on work location.
• Ability to prepare detailed reports.
• Basic typing and computer skills.
• Positive, respectful behavior with all people.
• Strong knowledge of emergency care procedures.
• Knowledge of illnesses, symptoms and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of city streets and traffic regulations.
• Ability to think quickly in stressful situations.
• Skill in applying emergency care procedures and equipment.
• Maintain good working relationships with crew, police and public.
• COVID-19 vaccination encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily customer happiness.
• Deliver patient care to licensure level.
• Keep medic unit/station stocked and clean.
• Examine patients and report conditions as directed.
• Prepare medical reports and invoices for runs.
• Attend required trainings to maintain certification.
• Clean vehicle and patient care compartments; keep stations neat.
• Report vehicle/equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Assist with routine maintenance checks alongside checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.
