Job summary

University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center seeks an Emergency & Critical Care Lead Technician for the 3rd shift. In this role, you will supervise ECC operations, manage on-the-floor staff, and assist with clinical procedures under DVM direction in an educational setting.

You will support teaching labs, maintain supply inventory, and ensure accurate charging per hospital fee schedules, while upholding safety and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus 2 years Emergency/Critical Care experience or equivalent.
• Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) required.
• Two years supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with veterinary terminology and restraint of small animals.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to staff, students, residents and faculty in educational setting.
• Monitor inventory, stock supplies, and manage on-the-floor staffing.
• Perform clinical procedures under DVM direction (fluids, anesthesia, sample collection, etc.).
• Oversee ECC overnight team, staff scheduling, and workflow directions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety, and infection control.
