University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center seeks an Emergency & Critical Care Lead Technician for the 3rd shift. In this role, you will supervise ECC operations, manage on-the-floor staff, and assist with clinical procedures under DVM direction in an educational setting.
You will support teaching labs, maintain supply inventory, and ensure accurate charging per hospital fee schedules, while upholding safety and infection control policies.
About the Job: This position is responsible for the daily technical operations and supervision of the ECC service on the third shift at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center (VMC). The AH Pro 2 is the second level within the Animal Health Pro Job Family and is responsible for providing professional support in a specific area(s) of animal health. Gives exceptional care to our patients and clients. Provides a positive and a professional learning environment for staff, students, residents and faculty. Manages on-the-floor staffing and handles immediate staff behavioral corrections, escalating further issues to the day shift
BA/BS plus 2 years of Emergency/Critical Care experience as a technician or a combination of both work experience and education to equal 6 years. Candidates will be Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) and have the skills to cover shifts in their areas. Additional qualifications include problem-solving and interpersonal skills, veterinary terminology knowledge, and proficiency in restraining and handling small animals.
The preferred qualifications for this position include two years of supervisory experience in a veterinary or healthcare environment, along with experience in private practice and educational settings.
