Job summary

SURGE Staffing is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician for a night shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Georgia. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and improvements to high-speed production equipment.

The candidate should have hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance experience, with PLCs, VFDs, motors, HMIs, pneumatic systems, and instrumentation. Independent problem solving and strong collaboration with production teams are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or technical education is a plus.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience maintaining manufacturing/industrial equipment.
• Experience with PLCs and industrial controls.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems preferred.
• Knowledge of VFDs, motors, HMIs, servo drives, and automation equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting 480V, 3-phase systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Basic computer and maintenance documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift and manipulate equipment safely.
• Willingness to work nights and a Monday-Saturday schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
• Diagnose breakdowns and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and modify PLC programming as needed.
• Work with Allen-Bradley PLC systems and related controls.
• Maintain and repair 3-phase electrical systems including 480V circuits.
• Install and repair electrical panels, motors, and control equipment.
• Lubricate and service machinery and moving components.
• Read electrical schematics, drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
• Document maintenance work, inspections, and equipment conditions.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with production and management.
• Collaborate with outside vendors for technical assistance.
• Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements.
• Support production operations and training as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA/NFPA/GMP requirements.
