Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a maintenance technician for on-site work in Swedesboro, NJ. The role focuses on maintaining and enhancing electrical and control systems in food manufacturing, with documentation duties and cross-shift training responsibilities.

The position requires experience with electrical/control systems, familiar with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi software, and the ability to work per GMP and safety standards. Night shifts and travel for parts may occur.

Qualifications

• AS/AAS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and control system designs.
• Working knowledge of control system projects including machine layout, control drawings, P&ID, and troubleshooting for Rockwell, Siemens and Mitsubishi.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current documentation for all electrical and control systems.
• Assist Mechanics and Electro-Mechanics in diagnosing and resolving electrical or control-related issues.
• Provide training and coordinate activities of Electro-Mechanics across all shifts as needed.
• Occasionally work offsite to support equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
• Ensure production equipment is maintained according to the production schedule.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections safely while equipment is operational.
• Address repairs during downtime following company and vendor specifications.
• Work independently or with a mechanic to restore production promptly.
• Complete tasks in compliance with GMP, safety standards and procedures.
• Perform maintenance on process control systems including networks, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical components.
• Maintain secondary systems like steam, hot/cold water, air, power, HVAC and emissions control.
• Keep accurate work records per work orders and backlog.
• May travel for parts procurement, training or other duties.
• Aim to enhance quality, legality and safety of products and processes.
• Keep work area clean and report any contamination or suspicious activities.
