Job summary

HonorHealth EEG Technicians perform standard and complex EEGs, including ECS recordings and CSA analysis, ensuring high-quality data while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

The role requires knowledge of the 10-20 system, ability to adjust procedures based on history and neuro status, and clear communication with patients and families. Night shift coverage is common; a sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an 11-month EEG training program or 6 months on-the-job training required.
• Graduate of an EEG program or 12 months on-the-job training preferred.
• Technical training or vocational EEG certificates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard and complex EEGs using the International 10-20 Placement System.
• Measures electrode impedance, calibrates EEG machine and obtains recordings.
• Maintains equipment and inventory; detects instrument malfunctions or reports major repairs.
• Records evoked responses and interprets signals, accounting for artifacts and anesthetic effects.
• Explains recording procedures to patient and family; assesses patient status and care needs.
• Performs CSA analysis and summarizes EEG findings.
