Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Elmhurst Hospital seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department night shift. Under RN supervision, you perform patient care tasks to ensure safety and comfort and assist with daily living activities in a high-volume ED.

Applicants should have CPR certification; EMT-B preferred; nursing assistant training or 6 months of experience, and a willingness to rotate holidays/weekends. Night shifts run 7pm–7:30am.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required; issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Preferred EMT-B certification.
• Completed nursing assistant training or minimum six months of patient care experience; or completed a nursing clinical rotation; EMT-B course completion acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, perform patient care tasks and procedures to ensure patient comfort, safety and well-being.
• Follow established procedures and care plans for patients in the Emergency Department.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain patient safety.
