Job summary

The Arc Eastern Connecticut seeks a Direct Support Professional for third shift in Waterford, CT. This full-time role assists individuals with IDD, delivering training, personal care, and community integration while maintaining health and safety, documentation, and medication administration as ordered.

Responsibilities include developing personalized support plans, escorting participants to activities, preparing meals, and mentoring in life skills with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred.
• Ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Speak/write in English.
• Basic computer aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training, support, and assistance in personal care, recreation, daily living, social skills, health needs, and rights.
• Participate in design and monitoring of individualized support plans.
• Administer prescribed medications as ordered.
• Complete daily documentation and health records accurately.
• Ensure health and safety, including CPR and First Aid.
• Provide transportation to activities and prepare meals per menus.
