Job summary

The Arc Eastern Connecticut is seeking a Direct Support Professional for the third shift in Waterford, CT. This full-time role involves supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, implementing individualized plans, and ensuring health and safety in daily activities.

You will train and assist with personal care, recreation, and community integration, document progress, and collaborate with the team.

Qualifications

Experience working with people who have developmental or physical disabilities is preferred.
Ability to mentor and assist in life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
Ability to communicate in English and complete required documentation.

Responsibilities

Deliver training, support, and assistance in personal care, recreation, daily living skills, social skills, health needs, rights, and community inclusion.
Design, implement, and monitor individualized support plans with observations to tailor care.
Administer prescribed medications as ordered by physicians and document outcomes.
Maintain health and safety of participants, including CPR/First Aid readiness and emergency procedures.
Provide transportation to activities and prepare meals according to menus.
