Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs within a Data Center operation in Barker, NY. This overnight, on-site role focuses on mechanical and engineering systems, safety, and environmental conditions to support critical client environments.

You will work with third-party vendors, complete planned and reactive maintenance, and respond to Building Management System alarms while adhering to CBRE processes, regulations, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in a technical discipline with 1–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Ability to present information to internal departments, clients, management and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• Respond to BMS alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and laws.
• Complete planned preventive and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
• Check BMS for running/alarm conditions and address HVAC-related client issues.
• Conduct facility walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
• Follow defined procedures and safety requirements; perform quality checks for maintenance records.
