Job summary

CBRE maintains small to medium-sized buildings and data center facilities in Barker, NY, with a focus on preventive maintenance and timely repairs. The Maintenance Technician will work on-site, handling mechanical and electrical systems and assisting with equipment installations.

Responsibilities include inspecting systems, diagnosing issues, following procedures, and supporting energy management to ensure efficient operation. A fixed day shift with on-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
• Physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards.
• Strong communication to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
• Conduct routine inspections, diagnose problems, and make repairs.
• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment.
• Review work orders and track completion with available systems.
• Support energy management by maintaining efficient building systems.
• Inspect installations for building code and safety compliance.
• Follow defined procedures to solve straightforward problems and communicate clearly.
• Contribute to team output through defined duties and supervised tasks.
• Deliver outcomes by following established processes under supervision.
