CASES is a New York City agency delivering behavioral health services within the criminal justice system. We operate ATD/ATI programs and support court-mandated pathways for thousands of defendants annually.

This Night Court Support Specialist role supports a new initiative in Manhattan, working in court during arraignments and building a caseload from courtroom to community nightly.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in related field is required.
• At least 5 years of work experience providing peer support to individuals with serious mental illness and criminal justice involvement.
• Proficiency with computer and electronic case records.

Responsabilités

• Provide support for Manhattan Supervised Release participants after court appearance.
• Maintain a caseload to meet court-mandated frequency and additional community contacts.
• Assist in de-escalation and crisis management when appropriate after release.
• Assess client needs in housing, income support, education, vocational training, social supports, employment, and primary care.
• Provide transitional support to clients to their homes, shelters, or treatment programs to ensure connection to programming.
• Assist clients with linkage to behavioral health, human services, and criminal justice systems.
