Job summary

Northern Manufacturing Co. seeks a Laser Operator for the 3rd shift (7:30pm–6:00am, Mon–Thu). You will set up, program, and operate CNC lasers to cut and fabricate parts, while inspecting quality and maintaining a safe workstation.

Strong trouble-shooting skills, blueprint reading ability, basic math, and attention to detail are required. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced shop.>

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience as a CNC operator or high mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Basic math and measurement comprehension.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong trouble-shooting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, program, and operate CNC flat and tube lasers to cut and fabricate parts.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot as needed.
• Monitor machine performance.
• Inspect parts for accuracy and discuss issues with supervisor.
• Handle material at workstation and load/unload from the machine.
• Maintain knowledge of material types and thicknesses.
• Keep workstation clean, safe, and organized.
• Assist with other shop tasks including break out and forklift operation.
