Summit Products is seeking a skilled Laser Operator for the night shift on weekends to set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting equipment. You will program from blueprints and CAD files, and ensure high-quality components are produced efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating laser cutting machines in manufacturing or fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machine controls, CNC programming, and software.
• Familiarity with PLCs and automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools.
• Certifications or experience with forklift operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser cutting machines with accurate calibration.
• Interpret blueprints and CAD files to program laser equipment.
• Use CNC programming to optimize cutting processes and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot laser machinery.
• Use calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions.
• Handle materials safely using forklifts and other equipment.
• Collaborate with fabrication, assembly, and quality teams to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Support tooling changes for various projects as needed.
• Document production data for QA and process improvement.
