Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital in Illinois is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support the Ortho Neuro department during evening and overnight shifts. You will assist with daily patient care, document vital signs in the EMR, and participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision.

This full-time position includes a 36-hour work week and a compensation range listed. Applicants must have BLS and state Nurse Aide registry in good standing, with certification

Qualifications

• Certificate GED/HSED or high school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the state registry.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care incl. bathing, feeding, mobility and transfers.
• Measures and documents blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration and intake/output.
• Documents in EMR accurately and promptly.
• Performs rounds and communicates observations to RN.
• Supports admission, transfer and discharge processes and room setup.
• Collects specimens and assists with routine nursing tasks as directed.
• Maintains inventory and sanitation of nursing area and equipment.
• Adheres to infection prevention practices and safety procedures.
