Job summary

Cayuga Health in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 4S Telemetry unit. You will work closely with the nurse to provide direct patient care, assist with ADLs, and monitor patients on the telemetry floor.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, and CNA preferred; shift is three 12-hour nights (7pm-7am) with every other weekend and holidays, onsite at Cayuga Medical Center, 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification provided if needed.
• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care - Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs and reporting abnormal findings to RN.
• Reinforcing education with patients; e.g. incentive spirometer use and fall prevention.
• Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.
